Terms of Service

Welcome to VeloBand. By accessing or using our website at veloband.com (the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully.

1. About VeloBand

VeloBand is an online marketplace that connects buyers and sellers of cycling-related products and services, including bicycles, components, accessories, apparel, and professional services, in Canada and the United States.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and reside in Canada or the United States to use the Platform. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and keep it up to date.

4. Buying and Selling

VeloBand provides the platform for transactions between buyers and sellers. We are not a party to any transaction between users. Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, and buyers are responsible for reviewing listings before making a purchase.

  • Listings must accurately describe the item or service being offered.
  • Sellers must have the legal right to sell the items they list.
  • All prices are listed in the local currency (CAD for Canada, USD for the United States).
  • Stolen goods, counterfeit items, and prohibited items must not be listed.

5. Fees, Payments, and Cancellations

VeloBand charges fees on completed transactions. Current fee rates, examples, and cancellation policies are detailed on our Pricing page. Payments are processed by our third-party provider, Stripe. By using the Platform, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.

Sellers must set up a Stripe Connect payment account to receive payouts from completed sales. Payouts are held by VeloBand until the seller has completed Stripe onboarding. You can set up your payment account at any time from your profile settings.

VeloBand reserves the right to modify its fee structure, pricing, and cancellation policies at any time without prior notice. The Pricing page always reflects the current rates in effect.

6. Exchange Points

VeloBand partners with local bike shops (“Exchange Points”) to facilitate secure exchanges. Sellers can drop off items and buyers can pick them up without needing to meet in person. Separate terms may apply to Exchange Point services.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings.
  • Use the Platform to sell stolen or counterfeit goods.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
  • Circumvent or manipulate our fee structure.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Platform.
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the Platform.

8. Content

You retain ownership of content you post on the Platform. By posting content, you grant VeloBand a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating the Platform.

9. Limitation of Liability

VeloBand is a marketplace platform and does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of items listed. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user. To the maximum extent permitted by law, VeloBand shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

10. Dispute Resolution

We encourage users to resolve disputes directly. If you are unable to resolve a dispute with another user, you may contact us for assistance. VeloBand may, but is not obligated to, help mediate disputes between users.

11. Listing and Account Moderation

VeloBand reserves the right to remove, suspend, or modify any listing at any time and without prior notice if we believe it violates these Terms, contains misleading or inappropriate content, or involves stolen or counterfeit goods. We may also suspend or restrict user accounts that are associated with fraudulent, abusive, or otherwise prohibited activity.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may close your account at any time by contacting us.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
